Hybrid Pintail ( Anas acuta )
I reluctantly joined blip nearly 11 years ago to document my recovery from a hip replacement. Reluctantly because I felt I would be competing with a wife two daughters, a brother andnow including a cousin and I am not keen on cpmpetition. Strangly I am still here and haven't missed a day.
Now I am addicted I need to thank Joe Tree for the original idea and all those past and present (and future ) who have worked so hard over the years to keep this wonderful community going.
The blip is a Drake Pintail. I am fairly confident it isn't a pure Pintail, I suspect he is three quarters pure. There has been a hybrid male around every time we have visited ( we saw him earlier at another part of the reserve. Waterfowl hybridise quite readily so he has probably paired with a mallard.
