Roses in the desert

Today was a big day and I had been a bit nervous about it 

Big tall Arab man in a four by four and we commenced a forty five minutes drive 

We made a stop and he brought water in to the car and then let the tyres down.  

We turned our eyes to the left and watched the camels elegantly step out of the desert into a rest area. Ready for the next ride 

We decided not to take a ride 

We set off again and after fifteen minutes a quick turn to the right and we were on the dunes of the desert 

Tooli looked at him and looked at me and said 'go gently'. And he took off

There were a few ups and downs and then he rose up over a really high one and we sat there perched on a 90 degree slope...

I go. ?  I no go 

'Goooooooo'. We shouted and down we went screaming at the top of our lungs 

And over and over he did it. Up and down... Back and forth. We were swung from one side to the other 

We stopped atop a dune and he pointed out Saudi about 500 yards away.   The inland sea in front of us. 

We set off again peaked at the top of a massive steep dune and he looked at us.  Laughed, turned the car round and then.reversed over the side. 

We were giggling like idiots

We had a stop where there.sea met the desert.  That is here 

After that we headed to some more inland water and our campsite for the night.

There were many tents but at 1800 we were the only ones there 

We sat and watched thrnsra for a long while and then ran for dinner when called 

The other party who were staying arrived - a full Arabic family who arrived fully prepped for cooking for themselves and entertaining themselves 

We watched on Amazed (after our Scrabble game) as the fathers took their kids in to the water in the darkness 

We sat for ages in the dark and watching the stars and looking at the water 

We took to our beds.  Moved.three of the mattresses (of which there.were seven and a sofa ) into the middle and settl d down 

We all woke at 530.and stepped out into the sunrise and right into the water 

We splashed around for half an hour and then ran back to our tent packed up headed to breakfast and then met our driver who has weirdly slept in the car over night 

An hour later we were back at Tooli's apartment .... Naptime and then new adventures await
