Stripes challenge - results
Thank you to all those who took the time to enter our October Community challenge themed on Stripes.
We hoped for a tiger or a zebra, would you believe we were treated to both, thanks to CarolineJay and LauriesPictos respectively! Other stripey critters spotted included exotic fish in the Seychelles and this pair of slow racers. If you know us volunteers, you'll know why we picked flumgummery's fun dachshund quilt as our cover winner.
Plant life made for a few entries like these petunias, some most delicate-looking fungi, and a colourful abstract offering from HOtamer. Stripey leaves, stripey fields, and who could resist the gorgeous composition of this scape by acula in Spain?
Shadows meant lines both horizontal and vertical in kwdiane's Delamere Forest, and brought striking simplicity to a row of bollards. What is your guess for the origin of these shadows?
Unexpected stripes cropped up in light painting, in a reflection of a charming row of houses, and in the form of a wonderful wavy ceiling. Architecture was a popular choice - check out three rings by spishy, the variety of stripes in this building, or the cool colour combination in ChrisG's entry.
Award for thinking outside the box goes to Donaldthehat, and award for 'blue sky thinking' goes to dollydoug.
Two last favourites:
Strictly Folk Dancing by gblrps
and
stripes by inkface
