Ulverston

Gloomy weather today so I caught the train to Ulverston for a mooch around.

I had a great time. Bacon butty and cuppa in the parish church, Hoad Hill and the Sir John Barrow monument, the start of the Cumbria Way, The Coro, the Jess Gilliam band prepping for this evening’s concert, the Roxy, the Laurel and Hardy Museum (Stan Laurel was born here), Swarthmoor Hall (“cradle” of the Quaker movement), Gilliam’s tea shop, a fantastic fish mongers, an independent book shop (I failed to not buy a book -again) …….

I could live in this town.
