It Poured....

....and then it stopped for the afternoon! And I went on a very long walk at the Tualatin Hills Nature Center. It was a lovely and somewhat muddy walk...so good to be outdoors!

My friend Eli worked with me first as a work study student many years ago, and then as my assistant when I was the dean at a local art college. She moved along after I left the college, and eventually married and now has the most adorable almost-one-year-old daughter. She's the closest thing I have to a daughter...super special woman. She and her family are arriving shortly (from Seattle) for the weekend. They've rented an Airbnb just around the corner so it will be convenient, but we'll spend much of the weekend together. So excited to have them visit! 

And, just in case you're wondering, MrWK and I had a lovely meal last night. He'll be working in Portland again next week, although I have a colonoscopy/endoscopy on Tuesday ;-)
