More deer

I was washing some dishes and looking out the kitchen window when I looked up to the top of the hill and saw the outline of this deer. I zoomed in with my camera and saw that it was a young stag. I wondered what he was looking at so intently, and then I noticed more deer in the hollow below him. (Extra) just as I pressed the shutter, all the deer turned and headed downhill at speed. A short time later I discovered that the scent of Nick and Bertie returning from their walk must have been responsible for the hasty departure of the deer.
