Crypt
The Bristol Photo Festival is on currently, with exhibitions across the city in a number of locations. I won't get to see all the sites, but I hope to visit several before they close.
Today I visited the crypt of St Paul's Church, Southville. The photographs here were by Sarker Protick from a "long term study of colonial architecture found ... in Bangladesh" and of "houses once ocupied by landlords who.. extracted rent from rural tenants". There were half a dozen illuminated light boxes, some double sided plus a projected blend of moving images. I'm afraid I didn't find it particularly exciting or engaging, although the method of presentation and the location were interesting.
I need to get a move on seeing some of the other exhibitions as many finish within the next two weeks.
