Not A Very Silly Saturday.....
I know that this is the first Saturday of the month and the day we especially remember Admirer for her part in hosting Silly Saturday for so many years, but my blip today is to honor a friend whose memorial service we attended this morning. John Butler was a man with a big heart and a desire to help people. He loved God, his wife of nearly 50 years, his daughter and son-in-law and his extended family. He also loved the ocean and sci-fi, especially Star Trek. Daniel handled the service, reading selected Scripture passages and speaking of the hope we have in Jesus We heard his daughter, Heather, share sweet memories of her father, we heard memories and a beautiful poem from his long-time best friend, Tom, and we enjoyed beautiful music, played on the piano by his Godson, Chris. We will miss his faithful, loving presence in our church body at FBC, but we rejoice in the knowledge that he is whole and healthy again and we know we will see him when we all get to heaven.....I did have won ton soup today, but the won tons were not very silly, so I didn't even put them in the extras.......
