Fade

Walked to our nearest shopping street to get to the library and to buy essentials. I was struck by the number of empty shops, particularly those that have remained empty for longer periods. Although the nail places are here as well they aren't as prolific as in Scotland. Social media seems to have become a vehicle for fuelling capitalist wants. Many people don't have the money to buy all the things. The things are often poorly made. Seeing empty shops is symbolic of this late stage of capitalism.
