The Pensioner

The sharp end

Lordy, I’m being forgetful. After I’d spun up the road there was the small matter of the budget. Labour’s first since 2010 and the first ever delivered by a female chancellor. Well, fancy that. And she did well, managing to raise £40bn in taxes for stuff but no one will pay any more for anything!* That’s what we want.
But a piece of bigger news I’d forgotten was that I went Hearts last night and we got turned over by Killie with the result that we’re back to the bottom. Apart from St Johnstone, our next four games include Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen. Just as well it’s just a game, eh?
As for today, I set about some foliage. That laurel is way out of hand and it’s a blighter to make smaller without just turning it into sticks. I’m sure I should be doing it at the start of the season rather than the end too, but that’s me all over. Rock n’roll gardening.
