Another Snowdog…

…. There is an art trail around town at the moment, featuring 12 different Snowdog sculptures, designed by different artists, each in a different location around town. This one is called ‘Starry Night’. They will be auctioned off for a local hospice at the end of their ‘run’.
I think they’re jolly and they seem to have been popular (if you find all twelve you can enter a prize draw).

I have been on a mission (it’s that time of year) to find some loose-bottomed (don’t) cake tins that don’t have a rolled edge at the bottom where cake mixture gathers and turns into charcoal concrete.
I have accepted this mission before but, after Christmas (hello birds, hello sky) I conveniently forgot all about it.
Quite by accident, I had found a couple of six inch sandwich tins, with a loose bottom and a smooth edge (am I obsessing here? They’re as rare as hen’s teeth, honestly! And, of course the ‘good’ ones have no label). The new ones proved such a joy to clean that I am now seeking some eight inchers too.

I don’t know why charred crumbs bother me.
Sigh.
But, I have accepted that they do.

(I warn you, if you take up this mission too, it could keep you awake for hours on yon t’internet.
A clearly worded search brings up only answers to, ‘why didn’t my cake bake in the middle?’, and ‘is it better to leave a cake in the tin while it cools?’
Listen up Google, that’s not what I asked.
… In all fairness though… Useful to know I suppose?).

Baking season.. Bring it on then.
There are cake tins out there with my name on.
