Looking over the bridge

This afternoon F and I went for a walk around Wern Claypits Nature Reserve. It was grey and miserable but we still enjoyed our walk. Last time F was there it was completely under water when the area was flooded, it was much better today. There were no birds around apart from a pair of mallards though.

Afterwards we had a wander by the canal where this photo was taken. The Montgomery Canal is unnavigable so left alone for wildlife and plants. We were surprised to see a dragonfly on the wing but unfortunately it didn’t perch.

Afterwards we went to the garden centre for some lunch. We had a toasted sandwich, dressed salad and crisps which was so filling that we won’t have to cook tonight.
