RSPB Lochwinnoch
We had a great morning at RSPB Lochwinnoch, it was incredibly mild with just a wee bit of drizzle on and off.
A whooper swan on Barr Loch was the first delight. It came close enough for us to see it’s beak opening as it gave it’s distinctive whooping call. It was the only whooper in amongst many mute swans and a solitary grebe tagged along too. Over at one of the hides we saw a couple of female shovelers, shovelling along, and a group of snipe too although my photos of them are not so clear. I have also added an extra of a lovely catkin, fluffy thing which I rather liked.
