Bonfire day

It was annual allotment clear-up day today when plot holders are encouraged to spend the morning clearing communal areas of the site including cutting back overhanging foliage and branches. This is what was fuelling the bonfire on the only day in the year when a bonfire is allowed on site. No fireworks, despite the proximity to Gur Fawkes Night. It was a good turn out, possibly attracted by the prospect of coffees and cake. I enjoyed a very tasty slice of homemade ginger cake. Deployment-wise, i was on less exotic duties,  scraping out weeds from the paved  car parking area.
