Lucky Jim

For reasons now forgotten, my Dad, even from childhood was known as 'Lucky Jim' and he has lived his life believing it.

He has always chosen to see the things that have happened positively and has remained relentlessly optimistic and upbeat.  Even when my Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, some 20 years ago, and over 10 years gradually got increasingly needy and withdrawn, he remained determined and stoic.  It took a mini stroke and period in hospital to make us all realise he couldn't cope any longer. Mum's death in 2017 nearly broke him... but it didn't.

But no one could have predicted the next chapter....he truly is lucky to have found love again after that with Jane a local friend who had also been widowed.

Now aged 88 Dad and Jane are very happy living together with pretty good health and still with a love of life, travelling, discovering and learning new things.

He's lucky indeed - and so are we.  xxxxx
