Lavender fields

Went with friends to the Olympic peninsula to view the lavender fields in bloom. They are beautiful though lack the scope and breadth of France! There are many farms that host local vendors selling handmade items such as earrings, soap, candles, handbags, T shirts, the list could go on and on. It's fun to see the creative use people find for lavender! Caramels, chocolate, marshmallows, marinades. Not sure I want lavender flavored hot chocolate, frankly, but I applaud their imagination!
