Sabbath

A mindful meander through some of the 90 acres including a mini expedition along the little stream which flows through the farm and into the river Taw at Bishops Tawton.
This tiny stream has gouged out an impressive little canyon in the rich fertile land. Jays, green woodpeckers, long tailed tits and the usual jackdaws, pigeons, buzzards and plenty of pheasants!
Dippy sensed that Maisie was about and I said that he could go and find her, off he went ears down and nose to the ground. She was with Vivienne in the next field.
We strolled slowly back to the farmhouse and enjoyed some nice conversation over a milky coffee.
A camper van had turned up yesterday afternoon and made deep trenches in the soft earth adjacent to the hard standing area and so I spent a couple of hours levelling up and filling the deep tyre trenches.
Sardines on toast for lunch whilst I prepared the evening meal of duck casserole with every vegetable I could find added. I managed to rustle up another apple, rhubarb and ginger crumble to help use up some custard I had left over.
Another long walk late afternoon brought us into the woods where pheasants were heading back to roost and making an awful din. More mindful moments as we walked back through Gods wonderful creation and back up to the campsite in the dying light.
Duck casserole was delicious and after a break to allow the first course to settle a hearty bowl of crumble and Devon custard was enjoyed.
Classic FM and plenty of reading material before Zzzzzz time.
