I wondered where it all went
Then I found it
Neglected and rusting
Hidden in a box
I wanted to lift the lid
To see how it is faring
Whether musty
Or mouldy
Or still refreshingly sweet
But to be honest
I daren’t lest it would look at me
In its disarmingly frank way
Find me wanting somehow
And seek a home elsewhere
Then all I would have left
Is a box full of honest
Regret
