Day Tripper

A day out for us in Edinburgh today. Got an early train and enjoyed some shopping on Princes Street before lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe where Jack and Anna bought their respective favoured memorabilia. Then a trip on an open top bus which was rather pleasant in the heat before we went for a stroll around the Scottish National Gallery.

Some lovely things to see and a very manageable size for children, not too overwhelming. Anna's favourite was some Degas ballerinas, she had a choice of two paintings and one bronze, and Jack's was a Van Gogh. Mine was The Kiss by Rodin, currently on loan from The Tate. It's a copy of the one commissioned by the French Government and was made by Rodin for a private collector. It's just gorgeous.
