a lifetime burning

Weir-ed

Another day under the current duvet of grey cloud saw me pop into Bath to get some spices for the curry spice mixes.  Harvest stocks loose spices that tend not to be available on the usual Supermarket spice rack stand. They even give you the choice of buying just the green Cardamom seeds, so that you don't have to shell the seed heads yourself, which is a real boon.  The only spice that they don't stock, that I regularly use (but not in the curry spice mix), are brown cardamoms.  Fortunately there's a Chinese foods shop in Bristol that has them and I managed to stock up recently.

This shot of the River Avon and Putney Weir was taken using the phone - it didn't seem worth the hassle of carrying in the Nikon on a tripod to deal with the necessary long exposure.  The end result isn't too bad, as long as you don't look too carefully, or try to zoom in to look at actual pixels - but once you do you see all the little artefacts and understand the limitations of phone photography.
