The largest Food Hall in the Middle East
It is my elder sister's 42nd wedding anniversary today! Gosh. I remember the day she got married. SweetArt and I were so young—a life-changing moment for the entire family.
Work was busy and G continued with her urban sketching which she is thrilled with. It was great to switch off at the end of the day and head out for a change of scenery. We chose Festival City as there are long walkways where you can get a decent walk.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed what looked like an upmarket food court where the John Lewis store was. Today, we walked through it. It's called The Market Island (or mi Dubai) and boasts 53 cuisines. It's a place I would definitely like to try at some point.
Today however we stayed focussed and had a quick snack at IKEA before shopping at Carrefour. The only distraction was checking out the food store in M&S!
And I have to record the passing of Quincy Jones at 91. So sad, but inevitable. His health hasn't been great for over a decade. I missed seeing him live in 2013 at a venue which was so close to where I live. If only I wasn't so broke at the time! We'll see if they are doing anything special for him at his restaurant over here.
