Late Pumpkins

We had a group of pumpkins beside our front door, Julia had bought them but we didn't have time to cut them into any patterns or scary faces.
Today Bella and Hetty had a go at them, with a little help with the cutting part. The large white one was particularly difficult due to a tough, thick, skin.
They really loved it and you can see Hetty really got stuck in with her arm digging in to get the seeds and stringy bits out.
Bella's was a bit more difficult as she wanted a small hole in the top but she also enjoyed getting the seeds out.
After cutting out and scooping out the insides they decided they wanted to paint them, hence the painting cloth covering the table in the right hand photographs!
Marlane is now soaking the seeds and will roast them. A memory of her time in Cyprus as a young teenager where her father was posted (Nicosia/Lefkosia).
