Just Like Heaven
Not quite sure that this is what Robert Smith would intone from the top of the cliff walk in Achill but the American tourist whose path I crossed was most definitely on a natural high, verging on the mystical experience.
"I feel like I have died and gone to heaven" said he.
"Well, be sure not to lose your footing or this could very much be on the cards..." said I.
He reckoned that this was the most beautiful vista he had ever experienced.
It is great to meet people who really really really love the present moment.
It is true that the cliff walk is pretty spectacular and I do love it very much, if with perhaps a little less mystical zeal.
My newfound American friend (he genuinely was a very nice guy and lovely to talk with for a few minutes) is actually in this photograph, to give this image a sense of scale.
If you don't see him in the main one, the extra shows a crop of the very same photograph with our elated friend pondering the insignificance of man compared to the immensity and permanence of nature. He is not wrong.
