Long Day
Thirteen hours after I noticed these Iris unguicularis flowers by the path as I left the house this morning, I finally got to pick them before the slugs did! I hadn't expected to be so long. The journeys to and from Birmingham were not much troubled by traffic but the last minute jobs at Ruth's took three hours and car sickness struck her on the way back here. At least we were in the house and unloaded before midnight.
The round trip to Ruth's and back only took twelve hours. The first hour was well spent having a last walk with C and the Megs, the dogs chasing round through trees and long grass. C is heading south for the winter. We look forward to their return in the spring :-)
Tomorrow is another day .... and it's the day the work to replace Ruth's kitchen and widen a couple of doorways will start. Hoping all the door seals we put up keep the dust from the rest of the flat.
