Mural, Maindee
“In shamanism it is not the jaguar or the crow that has meaning, it is what follows from whatever you view as an energetic transfer.”
Lujan Matus, Whisperings of the Dragon
Decisions, decisions – black and white or colour? A last-minute decision to go to Quaker Meeting this morning, plenty of other stuff to do at home but inspiration often arises from interaction with the world. As I arrived in Maindee I was greeted by a riot of colour and shape, so after meeting – which also provided plenty of inspiration – I wandered the streets in search of images. There are murals on the walls of nearby shops and houses, the tiger is like a gateway to Maindee as city Chinatowns have their gateway statements. Afterwards I headed off to the City Footbridge to see the new sculpture of Lady Rhondda, who will feature in a forthcoming issue of the family history journal. Seemed like a full day already so I headed off to get some veg for Sunday meal later. Settled down to watch Ludwig on TV; it can be a challenge to find a new angle on the tried and tested formula but I enjoyed this.
