Lots of messages from.concerned friends this morning. No idea why till I saw the news. 
The huge DDH which is where they build the nuclear submarines was on fire overnight. 15 + fire engines  were there to put out the fire and Facebook photos showed dense black smoke billowing out of the doors..
People.were advised to stay indoors with doors and windows closed. 
It started just after midnight. We slept through it..
 It was extinguished by morning but we decided against the Channelside walk as.its literally right next to the DDH . Instead we went to the other side of town and went to the Abbey

We were the only people there and it was very peaceful. ( extra)

I had to call in town later to.pay in a cheque from the car insurance. They said they'd overcharged and were reimbusing me.. now that's a novelty! 

I parked at Morrisons which is alongside Buccleuch Dock. I managed a quick.photo through the railings of The Pelican which is overwintering there
