A visit to JCB
We booked a trip to JCB so that S’s parents, K & B, could see the business that he works for. We had been earlier in the year with the U3 A group, so knew what to expect. There were only two other visitors in the group, so the guide, an elderly lady, former employee of the company, focused on S’s dad for her blurb. It was interesting, long and by the end tiring.
K & B have a hire car, so can get about, but find the small roads and numerous roundabouts a headache, so we acted as guides and called into Tesco’s to get some shopping. The men sat in their car whilst B joined K in their car and chatted. I did the find the food item when we had worked out what they call it in Canada and what it’s called in the UK.
I think that B, S’s mum is an absolute gem, being able to come to this country, drive on the opposite side of the road, on narrow windy roads. I most certainly couldn’t cope with the changes. K is a good navigator and the car has excellent sat nav.
We bought fish and chips on the way home, as I was too tired to cook.
By the time we got home I was shattered. We had our supper, grabbed a coffee and I crashed out on the settee. I must have been wiped out as Amber joined me in the manner she did after my heart surgery when she did ‘on guard’. She hasn’t done that for ages!!!
A quiet evening was spent watching TV and knitting the next Super Hero teddy.
