Yesterday afternoon's drama was trying to get a Hive hub to talk to the servers. Absolutely no-go, even with 'tech support'.
Today's solution was to cut out the middle man; ditch the hub, and the app.
Consequence: one now has to get off one's bahookey to walk to the  thermostat if there is an urgent need to adjust. And they no longer harvest our data.
Result.
