Surviving

I was pleased to get Through Ice and Snow on the table this weekend.  A new game themed on the exploration of the Northwest Passage around America.

A lot of the pleasure of the game is how well it reflects the theme.  With food, fuel and timber in very short supply, survival is the first priority before any useful point scoring.

I think all the players resorted to, um, 'recycling' the scientific samples we'd carefully collected for points, as food when the rations ran out.
