The Bright Side
The election is the only thing on everyone's mind really, isn't it. I have nothing to say that hasn't been said. Blip legend, Kendallishere, said it best for me and I have nothing to add
Everything else is distraction. I pruned some roses (sorry if it's the wrong time); I moved the lawn (it's November!); I read about the wooden satellite (mahogany? really?) and listened to the filmmaker who has made a documentary about an Orkney man forming a relationship with an otter. He said the film is really about the man coming to terms with not having children - a fact this reporter does not seem to have picked up. I wonder if my anxiety over this election is a little bit about having grandsons
And I visited the neighbours' chickens, whose gentle acceptance was a comfort. This is the neighbours' rhubarb forcer. The continuous clouds, mist and gloom that we have endured for days now has the upside that lichens love it and show off all their best colours - even better on terracotta. 'Every cloud has a silver lining'. Let's hope so
