Whites
We felt completely recovered from our double vaccinations when we awoke this morning, and with renewed energy. First we went for a short bike ride and then a short walk. It was really quite foggy and reminded us of Keats' famous Ode to Autumn which he wrote after a walk at St Cross near Winchester:
"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness..."
We saw a large ( 50+) flock of Redwings feeding on hedgerow berries as we walked down a farm track. My blip features some of the flowers I found under the hedge. I was surprised how many blooms there were in early November.
The flowers in the squares are the two flower forms of White Campion ( Silene latifolia). It is a dieocious plant so some plants have male flowers while others bear female flowers . (Lower square has male flower and top square has female flower).
The top circle contains a whorl of flowers on a White Dead Nettle ( Lamium album), while the lower circle has a Bramble flower.
We then spent a couple of hours tidying up the garden and filling our garden waste bin, followed by a quieter afternoon!.
