A day for travel,
opening up the house and
getting groceries

~carliewired

We were up for a 7 AM breakfast. It was another disappointment with just cereal and toast, but the coffee was good. It was a beautiful morning and we were on our way south on hwy 95 by 9 AM.

Our first stop for a view was at the bottom of the Colorado River near the Parker Dam. A broad expanse of blue was very inviting.

I was determined to get to my house by noon. I made a stop to get us some date shakes at the farm store on the 95 near Fortuna Road. I was disappointed that they were out of dates today. My Australian friend may not get a taste of the famous date shake.

I stopped for a photo of the Gila Mountains before I crossed the I-8. It felt like I was home then. I unplugged the GPS.

I got us in before noon - water on, power on, wifi working! Then we went for lunch and groceries just a few blocks away.  It was a sunny, beautiful 22 C.

I am relieved to be landed. I don't really want to drive anywhere now. It's election day here in the U.S. I plan to lay low for a few days to let the dust settle.
