book of plans
Oooh this is exciting!! Time to start planning our big holiday!
Had a bad day today on the project: On friday morning I'd painted the hull with a primer which contains aluminium flakes. Found out today that it doesn't stick to epoxy resin (which is used to fillet between the wood panels) as I tried to to paint the undercoat on. Then spent the remainder of the day stripping the primer off with white spirit soaked washing up sponges and a shed load more sanding. GGGRRRRR....
Now the boat looks a right mess. I've now used clear varnish as a primer as it seems to stick well enough to the epoxy, and am hoping the paint coatings to go on next stick well. This means that it is unlikely the boat will be tested before we head up to Scotland.... (somehow I think I will be completely re-painting this boat in the not too distant future...)
My bad mood was relieved later on by MrsEG's cheesy CD in the car and Starship's Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now.... (perfect for my upcoming wedding DJ booking!)
