Election Day in DC
Today I rode with my husband so I could shop at the Wegmans grocery store near his job site. I asked him to drive through DC on the way. It was exciting to see the activity around the White House.
As we approached, we ended up behind a "Trump Train" truck (main.) The driver was laying on the horn to draw attention.
There were riot control fences everywhere, and Lafayette Square was packed with reporters filming and demonstrators doing their thing with megaphones and music. The energy was palpable. I tried for a photo there, but the construction of the viewing stands for the Inaugural Parade completely blocks the view of the White House.
My first extra is of some reporters staking out their spots on the Elipse.
My second extra is of some of the riot control efforts in front of the Capitol Building.
