Lan Ha Bay…

……up and away for the long (and occasionally terrifying) drive to Ha Long bay, before taking a tender transfer to our cruise boat for the next 24hours, the MY Ginger. The cabin is spectacular to match the scenery as we cruise among the vertical limestone stacks of Lan Ha bay. Lunch, a cycle ashore on King Kong island, dinner and then cocktails on the fore deck. What a life!

Unfortunately, there’s lots of plastic in the water and the sheer volume of boats doing the same thing is a bit depressing. The Vietnamese are running hard at this mass tourism thing. Hopefully they’ll realise less is more before it’s too late.
