Winter Jasmine
My three lunchtime friends yesterday all came bearing gifts...... June brought me some Winter Jasmine which she picked that morning from her garden. It is giving me great joy as it sits on our coffee table..... I moved it to the window to take a photo to get the advantage of more light.
Our group this morning were entertained by Iain, an ex policeman who for a number of years was a duty driver for celebrities, including the royal family. He had some great stories, both of the preparations for the visits, and also of the celebrities themselves from his viewpoint. A very interesting and entertaining morning.
Our Chairman, Harvey, is a very special man. He has been Chair of the Group for many years, is a good singer and has entertained us on many an occasion. A stalwart of the Burns Club, Harvey has reached the good old age of 99, with his faculties still intact, although physically a bit frailer than in years gone by. We had a birthday cake for him, and of course sang to him.
Later in the day Bob and I managed a good walk, highlighted by Bob losing his phone. We noticed it when we went back to the car, and so we went out and walked again to see if we could find it. Then I had the bright idea of phoning it (ok, modern kids would have done that first of all, but we are dinosaurs) so we went back to the car and phoned it, and it was there all the time. Senior moments!
