Today I turned 60, but I didn't christen my bus pass. After giving Django a long walk, I worked from home, tidying up some code developments and putting together the slides for a talk I'm giving next week. 

In the evening we went into Edinburgh to celebrate my birthday with daughter K. 

As it transpired, we were eight at the table, as we were joined by dear colleagues K and J, J's wife, И and her boyfriend. The food was very interesting - levantine - and excellent. For the benefit of local foodies, it was at Baba on George Street
