Speed week Coniston

I wanted to see bluebird K7 Donald Campbell’s record setting jet boat which has now been rebuilt after crashing in January 1967 at 320mph on Coniston Lake, killing Donald instantly. So choosing this week todo so as the lake holds a speed week for modern race boats to race over a measured mile and set new records.
So the bluebird k7 had a tick, done and dusted and a beautiful boat, well worth a visit. Unfortunately Lake District low cloud prevented racing as you can see pictured the rescue boats and a race boat tied up waiting for the weather to improve
