Nocturnal Visitor

Was resigned to not having managed a Blip today - the plan was to do some macro this evening but spent too long sorting out how to tether a different camera to software which seemed to have changed (from the way I remember it!) after the last upgrade. Anyway, at about 11 o'clock I noticed this Feathered Thorn on the outside of the kitchen window. No fancy lighting - just my headtorch & a scarily high ISO. Luckily it stayed there after we turned off the kitchen light. This one is in season, the adults are said to be around until mid-November - though that's from an oldish book - will climate change make a difference?
