Rumbles
Having thought that I’d been listening to the rolling election news through the night (but I’d forgotten I’d set the snooze to switch off after half an hour when I went to bed), I realised with a shock when I woke that I must have dreamt that Harris had won in the USA. It was therefore with a dreadful sense of doom that I heard the actual news as it came through in the morning. Felt sick at the thought of the next four years with the orange one, especially with a Republican Senate behind him. I just had to avoid the news the rest of the day as I couldn’t bear to see or hear him.
I was up fairly early to take the car to the garage for its MOT. The morning light was lovely as I walked round to get it from where I’d had to park last time I used it.
I had to stay in for the rearranged delivery of my free view box, and spent the morning ironing out a hiccup with someone’s miss-sent ‘reply all’ email followed by some other admin.
Not long after lunch I heard from the garage that the car had failed its MOT because of a broken light above the number plate…d’oh! Had a bit of a faff as it needs a specialist part rather than just a new bulb, so had to do some phoning round to arrange that.
A arrived and we went over to the implant specialist I went to for her to have a consultation about her implant that seems to have failed. He was patient and kind, like I remembered and exactly as she needed, and gave her a number of options that she seems happy to consider.
Home and I made her pork with mash, veg and a cream and cider sauce which she’d decided was what she fancied and we settled down to watch Repair Shop and the first episode of the new Shetland series, then headed to bed. She has a conference tomorrow so can have a bit of a lie in.
