Practice, practice, practice
At the Temple of Literature, a confucian temple to the big man of sensible sayings, we were encouraged to practice our Chinese logographic writing using water and brush on slate. I was struggling a bit so I left this wee tribute.
Later we visited Maison Centrale to learn more about the workings of the infamous ‘Hanoi Hilton’. In truth, the US officers imprisoned there appear to have been rather well treated, and certainly so when compared to the French colonial authority operation of the prison in earlier years. That was brutal and designed to create fear in the minds of the local populous.
We ended our day of touristing at a water puppet show. Novel and humerous and a nice seat for an hour. Fortunately, I managed to stay awake.
