The gate´s for the dereliction challenge. 
Yesterday´s flower: thanks to everyone who came up with a possibility - cosmos and anemone are contenders - but I said I´d try it on an app and if Flora Incognita is correct, the flower´s called Apache beggarticks, aka Bidens ferulifolia; and if that´s the case it can come in white or yellow, and is a native of North America.
