A quiet place

Looking back at the village.

To my side a memorial for a young lad who took his own life after leaving the army. Behind me, further up the hill, a memorial to a Polish priest who also took his own life at the end of the war. 

A friend of my daughter’s says it better than I ever could.

I worry that the world is heading back there again.
