Resignation

Today after a meeting with my line-manager, which confirmed my fears, I submitted my resignation. It's been a long time coming but I was somehow hoping for things to improve. Well, pigs don't fly either....
I was really emotional afterwards - this job was my dream job when I first got it, 15 years ago. I gave it a lot, and my convictions about the importance of libraries are the same as they were then, but I was no longer able to do my job properly. Katya called me and we talked, which helped a bit.
Julian was out and I didn't want to be on my own in the evening, so I went to see a friend who plied me with wine, while her husband and daughter made a fuss of Django.
