the new traffic lights
I guess it's been overdue that the German finance minster got booted out of government for being obstructive. Other members of the FDP, the liberal party of Germany, left and the coalition government is falling apart. The FDP torpedoed agreed policy at every opportunity and I reckon they are largely responsible for the unpopularity of the current government.
The tragic thing is that this government attempted to be socially and ecologically responsible. This failed and the right wing, reactionary politicians are waiting to get their turn next.
In the end, like in other parts of the world, neither attitudes nor money will solve the problems of social inequality or climate change. Physics cannot be bargained with. The only thing that will help is to reduce the amount of CO2 that we put in the atmosphere. This has to be done in an equitable way. For example, all carbon could be (heavily) taxed. The income from this tax could then be redistributed equally among every person, no matter the age, gender, origin. This is not what the conservatives or fascists are offering.
I can live with most colour schemes, although I prefer the new one. As long as it is not steel blue.
Otherwise, I have finished book #14. A very little volume from the early 19th century about a guy who sold his shadow for a never empty bag of gold by Adelbert von Chamisso. I've know the story for a long time but never read it. A very enjoyable read.
