Woodpecker Pair

Kes was on the boiler house chimney when I was placing out MrQ's clothes this morning. I went to get the camera but by the time I returned he had gone. When Mish and I went for a walk I spotted him/her with prey. As I was holding Mish's lead I wasn't quick enough to capture it

While I was sitting on my upturned tank down the field I heard, then saw, a female woodpecker in the distance at the top of the ailing oak tree. One of its favourite perches. As I watched a male great spotted woodpecker landed on the tree and gradually approached from below. She flew.
