Lister Park parkrun - Halloween 666
Lister Park parkrun was celebrating Halloween in style. It was their 666th event an all the marshals and many of the runners were dressed up in Halloween costumes. I decided to run the course steadily with Cno2 - running their 25th parkrun. At one stage we were overtaken by a corpse, being dragged round by a zombie. The course was beautiful with autumn trees in full display, a mansion, a statue and a hill. As we were running down I realised that we would need to run up eventually. And sure enough we did. The second lap was easier, as we were prepared for the ups and downs of the route. Amazingly Cno2 carried on running at a steady pace and achieved a PB. After all the issues with diabetes I am so proud of the achievement.
After we enjoyed breakfast in a local tea shop before returning to the park for a walk. We popped into Cartwright Hall for the David Hockney art exhibition. A pleasant surprise and enjoyable.
After we returned to Leeds for a shower and relax before joining N to go to The White Rose for a lovely meal - a treat from Cno2.
