Living my dream

By Mima

First

It was lovely to lie in bed well past dawn this morning, not having to think about driving into town to an exam. We got up in a leisurely fashion, although Bean would happily have been up and about with the birds because it means she gets her breakfast that bit earlier...

I did work later in the morning in G's garden, and I probably enjoyed it all the more because of the contrast with sitting in a room watching a group of teenage boys while they sigh, yawn, sniff and sneeze. Oh, and complete an exam.

It has been a day of very little note. Life is quiet Chez Mima. The first iris is just out, with many more to come. That is the highlight.

Thank you for all the good wishes for my birthday yesterday. They are greatly appreciated.. I love the generosity of spirit of this community. And our willingness to read and listen to each other. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it was the norm across all of society?

Jacinda Ardern - our PM in the days of Covid, the Christchurch Mosque massacres and other tragedies - repeatedly urged us to be kind. To each other and to ourselves. She was right.
