Art and Beer

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Was für ein Tag as my German Freunds would say.

I went into work with a spring in my step and joy in my heart because a huge piece of work got delivered last night and I could stop worrying about it.

Then I had a fun day with Fazzy who was on top form. Well, when is she not, really? PLUS I made a date to meet up with Reg and Claudia and Regan after work.

It was Regan's first day on his new job, so he was in good spirits. We got beers at Duke's and he was full of good humour and chat. Then Reg and Claudia arrived and the fun chat continued, about music (Reg's love) and chocolate fish (Reg is obsessed).

Regan had to leave after this so I took the pair to Little Beer Quarter which I think is Wellington's coolest pub. Reg and Claudia loved it as I knew they would and I got talking about art.

It turns out that Claudia is a big fan of Brett Whiteley. Reg also enthused about the artist who was a contemporary of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe at the Chelsea Hotel.

They recommended this documentary to me, if you are interested.

The good vibes and fun chat continued until it was time for me to catch my train home. My spirits dampened a little when I discovered that it was actually a bus, the train having been cancelled.

It happens.

Then I looked at the news.

I'm not going to dwell on it. Suffice to say the world does not make sense to me. I thought it did, but it just doesn't. I still can't comprehend what happened.

So I went home full of joy and happiness and chat and art and beer and fear and trepidation and unhappiness.

Let's focus on art and beer.

S.
