I had to go for an MRI in Dover today (just checking on a change in tinnitus, so not overly concerning), and the centre's policy is not to take any chances on mis-identifying metals (i.e. magnetic or not), so I took out my opal stud for the first time since getting it, and today was only the second time having a completely naked ear since having my inner conch pierced in 2017.
I don't usually get to see the opal, so took the opportunity to admire its swirling, layered colours. It's now safely back in my ear (whistling to itself...).

p.s. It's only 2mm across, so presumably doesn't look so dramatic in my ear!
